WILTON, CT — Walter E. Ziem passed away on Dec 20 at Danbury Hospital at the age of 90.
Walter was born in Georgetown, CT on Jan 11 1931, son of Hans and Ella Ziem. He attended Gilbert & Bennett grammar school in Georgetown and graduated from Danbury High School in 1948.

Walt was most proud of his four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. After leaving the service, he was employed as a draftsman. Over the years, Walt built three houses and ran his own home repair business.
Walter and his wife of 69 years, Marion, loved to travel and took many vacations to various countries as a couple and with friends.

He is survived by his wife and three children: David Ziem and his wife Dale of Bethel, Holly Secskas and husband Ken of Shelton, and Thomas Ziem of Easton. He was predeceased by his son Kenneth and sisters Edith Mead and Ruth Wheeler.
Visiting hours will be held at Bouton Funeral Home in Georgetown, CT on Saturday Jan 15th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. In remembrance of Walter, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
