Officials Warn Of Phone Scammer Impersonating Wilton Police

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam.

Officers have received several phone calls from residents complaining they received a phone call from a person identifying as an "investigator."

According to the police, the caller ID of the scammer indicates the call is originating from the Wilton Police Department.

Police are advising residents who are contacted in this manner to get the name of the caller and inform them you will call them back.

To confirm the legitimacy of any call identified as originating with the WPD, residents should call the police non-emergency line at 203-834-6260.
