Patricia Cornwell Visits Wilton Library on Nov. 12

#1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Cornwell visits Wilton Library as one of her 4-stops in the U.S.

UPDATED 11/06/14: When forensic investigator Dr. Kay Scarpetta was introduced to the world in 1990 she was a lone voice in a cold morgue. Today, #1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Cornwell’s character is well-known by legions of fans and the forensic thriller industry is thriving in print, television and film. Patricia Cornwell is making Wilton Library her only Northeast stop in a four-city tour on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to talk about her 22nd novel, Flesh and Blood. She will speak about her Scarpetta character and the series for which she is so well known. Most important, Cornwell will happily answer questions from her admiring fans. Cornwell will also have a book signing after the talk.

With over 100 million copies of her books sold in 36 languages and 120 countries worldwide, Patricia Cornwell is the one all others are compared to—not the other way around. What sets Cornwell apart from the pack is her dedication to realism in her books. She has remained at the top of her game for 25 years through meticulous and exhaustive research into forensic investigation. According to her publisher William Morrow, “No other author knows more about this world than Patricia Cornwell.” Cornwell pits her master forensic investigator against a ruthless serial sniper unlike any she has ever faced before.

Tickets for this popular author are $30 (cost of book is $28.99 + tax) and include a copy of Flesh and Blood and TWO SEATS at the event. As with all book sales, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Wilton Library. To register for the book purchase and TWO SEATS, visit www.wiltonlibrary.org and click on the link on the homepage.

Karen Danvers, program manager for Wilton Library said, “We are so thrilled to have this incredibly well-known and popular author here at Wilton Library. We’re one of only four locations in the US where she is visiting. I’ve heard from people as far away as Arkansas that they are trekking to Wilton to see her!”

Elaine Tai-Lauria, executive director of the library remarked, “We’re delighted to have Ms. Cornwell. We have a wonderful setting here at the library where people will be able to hear her speak and actually ask questions of her, not just stand in a line waiting for their books to be signed, which is what you usually get with an author of this stature at a large book store signing.”
