Powerball Jackpot Yields $310 Million for Winning Numbers: Feb. 15, 2017
The CT Lottery says the overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9, but the odds of winning a jackpot are much smaller.

A Powerball drawing set to be held Wednesday night, Feb. 15, could result in a winner of over $310 million, according to the Connecticut Lottery. The potential jackpot winner can take home a cash lump sum option of $189.3 million if a winning ticket is drawn Wednesday.
While the overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The CT Lottery is reminding players that it only takes one ticket to win, and to play responsibly.
“We encourage people to use their ‘GameSense,’ or common sense, when playing,” said CT Lottery’s Interim President and CEO, Frank Farricker in a statement. “It is important for consumers to use good judgement when jackpots reach hundreds of millions of dollars. Remember to ‘play for fun, not to make money,’ ‘know when to take breaks’ and ‘please play responsibly.’ It only takes one ticket to win.”
