UPDATE: Regional Dem Leaders Unite For Mega Rally In Wilton Sunday

WILTON, CT — The Democratic Town Committees of Wilton, Weston, Westport, Ridgefield, Redding and Easton have joined forces to sponsor a regional campaign rally in Merwin Meadows Park on Aug. 28.

Scheduled to attend are:

• Gov. Ned Lamont
• Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz
• Sen. Richard Blumenthal
• Attorney General William Tong
• Rep. Stephanie Thomas, candidate for Secretary of the State
• Erick Russell, candidate for Treasurer
• Ceci Maher, candidate for State Senate, District 26
• Rep. Anne Hughes, District 135
• Rep. Jonathan Steinberg, District 136
• Keith Denning, candidate for State Representative, District 42

"We are grateful to have forward thinking representatives who are committed to protecting individual rights and freedoms, while promoting job growth and fiscal responsibility. Join us to celebrate their accomplishments, show your support and your commitment to protect and promote democracy as we move towards Election Day," said event organizers in a news release.

Attendees are asked to bring a chair. There will be food trucks, raffle drawings, music and a kids play area — as well as many opportunities to volunteer for campaigns.

Merwin Meadows Park is located at 52 Lovers Lane in Wilton. The event will be held 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 28, rain or shine. Parking will be available at Merwin Meadows Park, Wilton Playshop, the Congregational Church, and the Wilton Train Station. Carpooling is encouraged.
