"Songs with Santa" (and bells!) at Wilton Historical Society

Join Music on the Hill bell ringers in the Abbott Barn on Holly Jolly Saturday!

Music on the Hill ringers and singers -- and a very special guest! -- will be in the historic Abbott Barn for "Songs with Santa" this Saturday, December 8, at 2 and 3 p.m.

The whole family will enjoy watching and listening to the bells play holiday songs and can sing along with songs they know. Kids can join in with sleigh bells! Included in each session: Santa's Jingle Bell Workshop, where children will make a bell bracelet to jingle all the way home.

It's all part of Holly Jolly Saturday and the Great Trains holiday show at the Wilton Historical Society at 224 Danbury Road. "Songs with Santa" is free, with admission to the Great Trains exhibit.

The concert is filled with familiar and lesser-known carols and songs, including Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Wassail Song;" the French carol "Il Est Né;" and a setting of the Tennyson poem, "Ring Out, Wild Bells," by contemporary composer Linda Dowdell.

The audience will be invited to join in singing favorite carols with the imposing St. Matthew's organ.

"Sounds of the Season" is suitable for families and is free, with donations welcome ($20 suggested).
