State Tournament Sports Schedule
Warriors baseball earns first round bye and will host second-round game in Class L tournament on Wednesday.

Despite losing its final regular season game to St. Joseph, 2-1, the Wilton baseball team received a bye in the first round of the CIAC Class L state tournament.
The Warriors, who finished the regular season 16-4 are seeded third - behind only East Lyme (18-2) and Bethel (16-3) - and await the winner of Tuesday's contest between No. 14 Sheehan (13-7) and No. 19 East Haven (11-9). Wilton hosts the winner in the second round on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
The quarterfinals are set for Saturday, sites to be determined.

The boys' lacrosse team settled for a No. 7 seed in the top-heavy Class M division following an 11-5 regular season and hosts Fairfield Ludlowe on Thursday in a first-round game at 3 p.m.
FCIAC powers Darien and New Canaan also are in Class M, and a possible quarterfinal matchup against Darien on Saturday looms for Wilton.

No. 2 Darien (14-2) hosts No. 15 North Haven (7-9) in a first-round contest Thursday, and the winner faces Wilton for a berth in the semifinals.
Here is the schedule for the other Wilton teams that made the state tournament in their respective sports:
Girls lacrosse -- The Warriors (10-4-1) are the No. 11 seed in Division I and host No. 22 Branford (8-8) in a qualifying game on Tuesday at 5 p.m.. The winner plays at No. 6 Glastonbury (13-2-1) on Thursday in a first-round clash.
Softball -- Wilton is seeded 17th in the Class M division following an 11-9 regular season and plays at No. 16 Torrington (12-8) in the first round Tuesday at 4 p.m..The winner plays top seed and undefeated Waterford (20-0) in the second round on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Girls tennis -- The 14th-seeded Warriors (10-6) play a qualifying match against No. 19 E.O. Smith (9-7) at the Sycamore Recreation Center in Avon on Tuesday at 1 p.m.. The winner plays later in the same day at 3 p.m. against No. 3 and host Avon (19-1).
