Sugar Hollow Bridge Closed

WILTON, CT — The Sugar Hollow Bridge in Wilton will be closed until repairs are completed at the recommendation of the state Department of Transportation.

The bridge was reduced to one lane of alternating traffic last year after state inspectors determined the bridge was in need of repair.

Connecticut has 332 structurally deficient bridges, which accounts for 7.8 percent of all bridges in the state, according to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association.

The bridge on Sugar Hollow Road goes over the Norwalk River. There is no estimate on when the bridge could reopen, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
