Vaccines
Tomorrow the Wilton Health Department is holding their first vaccine clinic for in-person education employees. Miller-Driscoll and Cider Mill staff choosing to receive the vaccine will be the first recipients. We are very excited to address two of our four schools within the first week of eligibility. We are hopeful we will soon receive the additional vaccines required to vaccinate the staff of the other two schools.
Today CT DPH released the following data for Wilton:
- 101.30% of residents 75 and up had received a first dose. Obviously, the State underestimated the size of this population as we haven’t over vaccinated this group. And we do know of a few residents in this age group that haven’t been vaccinated.
- 81.97% of residents 65 to 74 had received a first dose.
If you are eligible and still need a vaccine or have an appointment as far out as April, appointment availability is opening up every day. Please consider revisiting the multiple means of booking an appointment on the Town’s Coronavirus webpage.
Please practice the 5 W’s and behave as if you have the virus and as if those around you do as well.
5 W’s
- Watch your distance
- Wear a mask/face covering when you can’t maintain 6 feet of distance whether indoors or outside
- Walk, run or bike to the right in single file when passing another person on the NRVT, sidewalks and trails
- Wait to host indoor gatherings
- Wash your hands
