Lock It or Lose It. Theft of unlocked vehicles continues in Wilton and surrounding communities. The simple solution is to lock your vehicle. If thieves are repeatedly unsuccessful in Wilton, they won’t return.

Road Use. Driver, runners and walkers are reminded of the many blind spots on Wilton roads. Blind spots are made worse in the winter when snow further obstructs views and roads narrow. Please, exercise caution and good judgment on the road and when selecting your route.

Vaccine & Case Data: According to the Center for Disease Control, as of 9:00 a.m. this morning, 54,727 doses of the vaccine had been administered in CT. This represents 1.5% of residents. Only five states and the District of Columbia had a higher percentage of vaccinated residents. CT is still on track to complete Phase 1a vaccines by the end of January. An announcement by the Governor with additional details for Phases 1b and 1c is expected next week.

The following is data, as of 8:30 p.m. last night, from today’s CT DPH report versus Monday’s December 28th report:

  • Wilton: 7 new cases reported. 596 cases YTD.
  • Statewide: 2,463 new cases. 7.65% of the 32,178 new tests reported were positive. 183,663 cases YTD.
  • Fairfield County: 608 new cases. 55,645 cases YTD.
  • Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 1,167 with a 52-net patient decrease. Fairfield County, 291 with no change.
  • Deaths: Statewide, 5,964 with 60 new deaths. Fairfield County, 1,713 with 16 new deaths. Wilton, 45, with no new deaths.
