Town Of Wilton Publishes Coronavirus Update For November 19

November 19th – "The following is data from today’s CT DPH report versus yesterday’s November 18th report:

  • Wilton: 11 new cases reported. 417 cases YTD.
  • Statewide: 2,353 new cases. 6.48% of new tests reported were positive. 99,381 cases YTD.
  • Fairfield County: 698 new cases. 33,067 cases YTD.
  • Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 840 with a 24-net patient increase. Fairfield County, 248, with a 5-net patient increase.
  • Deaths: Statewide, 4,805 with 21 new deaths. Fairfield County, 1,466, with 3 new deaths. Wilton, 43, with no new deaths.

Wilton’s known cases ranged from ages 18 to 45.

Due to the impact sports related COVID cases are having on student learning, today Governor Lamont suspended all team and club sports from Monday, November 23rd until January 19th. A forthcoming executive or CT DPH order is expected. As a reminder for this weekend, if within a red alert community sport sector rules require compliance with CT DPH sports guidance and mitigation strategies. Details are available here. As of today, 145 of Connecticut’s 169 municipalities are red alert, including all those within Fairfield County.

Red alert communities are defined as those with a 14-day daily average of 15 or more cases per 100,000 residents.

  • Wear a mask/face covering when you can’t maintain 6 feet of distance whether indoors or outside
  • Walk, run or bike to the right in single file when passing another person on the NRVT, sidewalks and trails
  • Wait to host indoor gatherings
  • Wash your hands
