Tree Worker in Critical Condition After Shocked on Job in Wilton

Police reported that the boom on the worker's truck came in contact with the power lines.

WILTON, CT — A tree worker was hospitalized after he was shocked while on the job Wednesday.

Police were called to the site of the accident at 55 Ruscoe Road at 6:38 p.m. where they found a 25-year-old Stamford man unresponsive after being shocked. First responders provided medical care and arranged for his transport to Norwalk Hospital where he remains in critical condition after sustaining life threatening injuries.

After preliminary investigation, police reported that the boom on the worker's truck came in contact with the power lines, which ran down the driveway, energizing the truck. The victim, who was working on the ground, then went to open the door of the truck and was shocked.

The incident in still under investigation by the Wilton Police Department and OSHA.
