Trumbull Man Assaults Wilton Officers After High-Speed Chase: Police
Police say they observed the motorist speeding northbound in southbound lanes, traveling head on against traffic on multiple occasions

WILTON, CT — Two officers were assaulted by a Trumbull man following a high-speed chase, according to the Wilton Police Department.
Police first spotted Jorge A. Oliva, 48, of 32 Yorktown Circle, around 1:35 p.m. on April 15 driving recklessly on Danbury Road in the area of Ridgefield Road, according to their report.
Before engaging the police in pursuit, Oliva was observed speeding northbound in southbound lanes, traveling head on against traffic on multiple occasions. Police say Oliva threw a baseball cap out his window, and then several minutes after the pursuit ended, crashed his car into two other vehicles in the area of Danbury Road and Olmstead Hill Road.

One of the drivers was injured and required transport to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance, according to police.
Police say Oliva then kicked one of the uniformed officers, and punched the second officer in the nose. He was then subdued and taken to Norwalk Hospital with minor injuries at around 1:49 p.m.

Oliva was charged with two counts of assault of public safety, interfering with an investigation, reckless driving, failure to stop, and littering. He was held on a $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court the next day.
