WANTED: Bakers & Builders for Wilton's 2021 Gingerbread Contest

Wilton's 2021 Gingerbread Competition will have a police theme.

WILTON, CT — The town's annual gingerbread baking competition has gone blue.

The town’s Police-Town Hall Building Committee is hosting the annual competition and is inviting participants to create a police themed gingerbread structure for their entry in the event.

"Bakers, builders, artists and engineers of all ages are encouraged to use their delicious designs, edible engineering and confectionery construction to create a police building OR police car for the competition," event organizers wrote in a news release.

"The architects are fine-tuning designs for the proposed new Wilton Police Department headquarters so give them some ideas!"

There is no entry fee but advance registration is required. Registration will be online and open Nov. 15. Details of the competition will be announced at that time, and questions may be sent to gingerbreadpolice@wiltonct.org.

The gingerbread displays will open to the public at Wilton Library the evening of Dec. 3 and remain on display throughout December.
