WEATHER UPDATE: Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Wilton

More rains, flooding possible for the area, and we'll let you know when the rain ends and how much has fallen in Connecticut.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire state of Connecticut mainly because of the possibility of flooding on Tuesday as the rains begin to end later this evening.

A “Flash Flood Watch” is also in effect for the entire state. Besides the rain and possible flooding the temps will feel about 20 degrees cooler than normal as high temps will be stuck in the mid 50s.

For Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties periods of some rain is forecast after 12 p.m. with flooding a concern until this evening.

In Hartford and Tolland counties heavy rains are still forecast Tuesday bringing the 3-day total to be between 1.5 to 2.5 inches, the weather service writes. Additionally, a flash flood watch is also in effect for both counties.

According to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network, which monitors precipitation daily, the big winner thus far has been Southington as parts of the town received 5.33 inches and 3.02 inches of rain just on Monday.

Other totals for Monday include: Brookfield, 1.72 inches, Enfield 0.68 inches, West Hartford, 1.27, New Canaan, 2.57 inches, Milford 0.73 and Madison with just 0.45 inches.

  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Northeast wind around 7 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southeast wind around 8 mph.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. East wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. East wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday Night: A chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
