Wilton 2022-23 Budget Passes Following Low Voter Turnout
The proposed $131 million spending plan is a 1.67 percent increase over the current budget.
WILTON, CT — Less than 15 percent of the town turned out to vote last week on the annual budget referendum, which gave the 2022-21 town and school spending plans an automatic pass, according to unofficial results released Saturday.
Approximately 74 percent of the 1,101 participating voters cast a "yes" vote for the budget, and 74-89 percent of those same voters cast "yes" votes for the six bonding questions. The bonding questions did not require a minimum turnout percentage, and passed on vote count alone.
The proposed $131 million spending plan is a 1.67 percent increase over the current budget.
