Wilton Boys Soccer Upsets Bristol Eastern

12th-seeded Warriors advance to quarterfinals of Class L tournament with a 3-1 victory in Bristol

After appearing in the FCIAC playoffs for the first time in a decade, the Wilton boys' soccer team is intent on making a deep run in the CIAC Class L state tournament

Evan Owen, Ben Quantock and Kyle Dedrick scored goals Thursday, as the 12th-seed Warriors upset No. 5 Bristol Eastern, 3-1, at Muzzy Field.

Owen and Quantock scored in the first half before Dedrick tallied in the second half to give Wilton a 3-0 lead.

The Warriors (11-4-4), who lost to Staples in the semifinals of the FCIAC tournament, will take on either Berlin or Bacon Academy in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Wilton is one of three FCIAC teams to reach the round of eight in Class L, joining Fairfield Warde and New Canaan.
