Wilton CERT Disaster Preparedness Training Course

Here is a Press Release on the Wilton CERT Disaster Preparedness Training Course that takes place in October.

PRESS RELEASE:

The Wilton “Community Emergency Response Team” (CERT) is inviting citizens to participate in their annual disaster preparedness training course starting Wednesday October 21st. The participants will learn how to protect themselves, their families, and the Wilton community in the event of an emergency or a disaster. The interactive training covers many topics involving home and fire safety. Participants will also learn basic medical treatment including earning First Aid, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and CPR certifications. There is no cost for this valuable life saving training.

Wilton CERT is a volunteer organization associated with the national CERT organization administrated by the Citizen Corps and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. At the conclusion of the training course, participants are welcomed to join Wilton CERT and benefit in further disaster training. As a member of the CERT team, citizens will be given the opportunity to provide operational support to the Wilton fire, police and EMS services in protecting the Wilton community.
