Wilton Clarifies Property Revaluation Schedule, Appeal Deadline For 2025 Grand List
Wilton officials say no town-wide revaluation is underway and outline appeal deadline for property assessments.
WILTON, CT — The Town of Wilton is clarifying that it is not conducting a town-wide property revaluation for the upcoming 2025 Grand List, following what officials described as recent misinformation.
In a Feb. 20 press release, the Assessor’s Office said the town’s most recent revaluation was completed for the Oct. 1, 2023, Grand List.
Under state law, Connecticut municipalities are required to conduct a revaluation every five years. Wilton’s last revaluation occurred in 2023 rather than 2022 due to a one-year postponement. The next town-wide revaluation is scheduled for the Oct. 1, 2027, Grand List.

State law also requires a physical revaluation every 10 years, with statistical updates conducted in the interim years.
The Assessor’s Office said that outside of a revaluation year, a property’s assessment generally remains unchanged unless specific circumstances apply. Assessments may change if physical improvements were made and tracked through the building permit process, or if new improvements or changes were identified during field reviews by the Assessor’s Office.

In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes, assessment increase notices were mailed Feb. 10, 2026, only to property owners whose assessments changed due to such improvements or discoveries.
Residents may review current assessment information on the town’s website and compare it with prior years to determine whether any changes have occurred.
Property owners who believe their current assessment — including any changes due to improvements — does not accurately reflect the property’s value as of Oct. 1, 2023, may file an appeal with the Board of Assessment Appeals.
Applications must be received by the Assessor’s Office no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20. The submission must include an original application with a wet signature and any supporting documentation. Additional information and required forms are available on the town’s website.
For questions, residents may contact the Assessor’s Office at 203-563-0121 or by email at assessor@wiltonct.gov.
