Wilton District 10s Fall to Norwalk 8-7
Six run rally in the sixth is not enough for the Warriors.
Despite a furious two out six run sixth inning rally, the Wilton District 10s baseball team fell to Norwalk 8-7 to fall to 2-1 in District pool play.
Norwalk struck first in the bottom of the second turning two walks and a wild pitch into a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the third Brian Cipri's lead off walk resulted in a run for the Warriors when Eli Ackerman's long double to center scored pinch runner Ryan Johnson.

With two out in the sixth down 5-1, the Warrior bats finally came alive, and in a big way. Ryan Sorbo, Kevin Hyzy, Brian Cipri and Anthony Passaniti all came through with hits to close the gap to 5-4. In an amazing nine pitch at-bat where he fouled off three consecutive two strike pitches, A.J. Preisano worked out a crucial walk to keep the Warrior hopes alive. Davis Wallon then doubled to right to drive in two more and put Wilton up 6-5. Sam Strazza drove in the final run with a single to left center.
In all too familiar fashion, the Warriors struggled in the bottom half of the inning and could not close out the game. Norwalk sealed the victory with a double to left and took possession of first place in the pool with a 3-0 record.
