Wilton Education Budget Approved
The nearly $80 million budget represents a 1.98 percent increase from the current fiscal year.

The new proposed Wilton school budget for the fiscal year 2015-16 was unanimously approved on Feb. 5, the Wilton Bulletin reports.
Superintendent Kevin Smith’s $79,956,024 2015-16 budget represents a 1.98 percent increase over this current year’s fiscal spending, according to Smith’s budget presentation.
Of the total budget, 60.5 percent is allocated towards salaries, 13.8 percent is towards contracted services, outplacements, supplies and equipment. Of the remaining budget, 17.3 percent will go towards employee benefits, 4.5 percent towards transportation, 2.9 percent will go to buildings, operations and facilities and the remaining 1 percent will go to substitutes.
