Wilton Educator Up for Grammy Foundation Award

The teacher is one of 10 finalists from eight different states.

WILTON, CT — A Wilton music teacher has been selected as a finalist for a Grammy Foundation award.

The Wilton Bulletin said Frank “Chip” Gawle, Wilton High School’s music director, is one of 10 music teacher finalists from 10 cities and towns in eight states for the 2016 Grammy Foundation Music Educator Award.

He is the band director and fine and performing arts instructional leader for the school.

The winner will be presented at the special merit awards ceremony and nominees reception Feb. 14, during Grammy Week.
