Wilton Fire Department Announces September 11th Ceremony

The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m., by the 9/11 Memorial Monument in front of Fire Headquarters.

WILTON, CT — On Monday, Sept. 11, Wilton Firefighters Local 2233 and the Wilton Fire Department will host their annual remembrance ceremony to honor the Wilton residents and all emergency responders who were killed in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Wilton firefighters, police officers, EMS responders, family members and friends of those lost on that day will again gather at Wilton Fire Headquarters located at 236 Danbury Road. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m., by the 9/11 Memorial Monument in front of Fire Headquarters. The monument was created as a tribute to the five Wilton residents and others who lost their lives following the attacks on the Twin Towers.

The ceremony which will feature tributes to those lost, prayers from local clergy, and thoughts offered by members of the Wilton Police and Fire Departments and American Legion Post 86. Organizers expect the event to conclude by 11:00 a.m., and will be followed by refreshments and reflections at Fire Headquarters.
