Police have charged a Wilton man driving at twice the legal blood alcohol level with DUI.
WILTON, CT — Police have charged a Wilton man driving at twice the legal blood alcohol level with DUI.
On Feb. 12, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Wilton Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Ford F150 traveling east on Grumman Hill Road. The truck's operator, a 45-year-old High Ridge Road resident, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the police report.
The motorist admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving and failed to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests to standard. He was then placed under arrest for DUI and submitted to chemical testing. The results of the testing indicated blood alcohol levels of 0.1797 and 0.1789 consecutively. In Connecticut, driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above is illegal.

After paying 10 percent of his $250 bond, the man was scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 23.
