Wilton Police Arrest Log For July 31 - Aug. 6

WILTON, CT — Car theft and two thefts from a local liquor store were at the top of the Wilton Police Department's arrest log last week.

On Aug. 1, police were dispatched to the parking lot of Stop & Shop at 5 River Road on a report of a stolen gray 2021 Toyota 4Runner.

Officers spotted the car, but the license plate was different from the one reported stolen. Police stopped the car, and confirmed it was the vehicle reported stolen.

Police charged the driver, Anthony Villano, 63, of Weston, with first-degree larceny and misuse of marker plates. He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 14.

Following an investigation by the Wilton Police Department Detective Bureau, police arrested Bridgeport man James Isaac Coates, 48, on a warrant, Aug. 3. Coates was accused of two incidents of shoplifting from the BevMax liquor store at 14 Danbury Road, Feb. 25 and March 23. Coates and an accomplice took $647 worth of liquor, according to police. Coates was arraigned at Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 3. According to the police report, another arrest is pending on this case.

Wilton police arrested a 64-year-old New York City woman on a warrant after they say she made six fraudulent checking transactions from another person's bank account.

Maryjane Donohue was detained on Aug. 7 for three counts of fourth-degree larceny, three counts of third-degree forgery, one count of second-degree forgery, three counts of criminal impersonation, and one count of second degree identity theft. She was arraigned at Stamford Court the same day.
