WILTON, CT — A DUI involving a 6-year-old and a reckless motorcyclist were at the top of the Wilton Police Department arrest log last week.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Monday, Wilton police pulled over a 2008 Lincoln Town Car after they say it traveled across the solid white fog line several times, and once off of the roadway completely.
The driver, Jorge Saavedra-Miranda, 60, of Cannon Road, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and was traveling with a six-year-old child, unrestrained, in the back seat, according to the police report. Police say they also saw an open alcohol contained in the car.

Saavedra-Miranda failed to perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, police said. Subsequent chemical testing indicated the driver had blood alcohol levels of 0.1203 and 0.1180, consecutively.
Police charged Saavedra-Miranda with DUI, DUI with a child in the car, transport of a child without restraint, and failure to drive in proper lane. He was released from custody after posting a bond of $240, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 8.

About 10 minutes before 2 a.m. on Saturday, police stopped a 2009 Toyota RAV4 for a defective marker lamp. During their investigation, police learned the driver, Juan Cruz, 30, of Danbury, had four active prior arrest warrants for violation of probation, according to their report. Cruz was taken into custody without incident, and released on a promise to appear at Danbury Superior Court on June 9.
Shortly after 6 p.m. that same day, officers were dispatched to the area of 349 Chestnut Hill Road on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a car, with injuries.
According to their report, a 2023 Honda CMX500 motorcycle and a 2014 Chevrolet Impala were traveling northbound on Chestnut Hill Road when the Chevy began to turn left into a driveway. For "an unknown reason," according to police, the motorcyclist drove into the southbound traffic lane to go around the car, then struck it as it turned.
Motorcyclist Michael Parsons, 68, was taken to the hospital for suspected injuries, police said.
Following an investigation, police cited Parsons for failure to drive in the proper lane.
