Wilton Police Arrest Log For Nov. 20-26

WILTON, CT — DUI and ID theft arrests were at the top of the Wilton Police Department's blotter last week.

On Nov. 17, Wilton police caught up with a Wyantskill, NY man suspected of larceny and identity theft. Police say James J. Greco, 47, entered a bank on July 16 and proceeded to forge checks in the victim’s name and cash/deposit those checks into other accounts. Greco was only identified with the help of several other law enforcement agencies.

Greco was arrested in Framingham, MA on Nov. 17, and extradited back to Connecticut on Nov. 21. He was charged with first- and second-degree identity theft, two counts of criminal impersonation, two counts of third-degree larceny, three counts of third-degree forgery, and second-degree forgery of a government document. Greco was held on a $250,000 bond at Wilton Police Headquarters pending his release.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 23, Wilton police stopped a Ford Fusion they say was moving at 68 mph in a posted 30 mph zone on Belden Hill Road, south of the intersection with Drum Hill Road.

Police report the driver, Pedro Jesus Aguilar Madrid, 22, of Stamford, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was also driving with a license suspended due to a previous DUI arrest.

Aguilar Madrid was taken into custody and charged with speeding, DUI, and driving while under suspension. He submitted to chemical testing and his blood alcohol concentration of 0.1279. The criterion for legal intoxication in Connecticut is a BAC of 0.08 or higher.

Police released Aguilar Madrid after he posted 10 percent of the $250 bond and was scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 4.
