Wilton Police Charge Danbury Man with DUI

He had a blood alcohol level four times the legal limit, police say.

WILTON, CT — Police arrested a Danbury man for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On Wed., Sept. 5, Wilton police received a complaint about a car being driven erratically and not staying in its proper lane while traveling north on Danbury Road. When officers pulled the car over near the intersection of Danbury Road and Sharp Hill Road, they detected a strong odor of alcohol. according to the police report.

The driver, Brandon Cook, 28, of 31 Washington Avenue in Danbury, was unable to pass a Standardized Sobriety Test. Several containers of alcohol were found in Cook's car, police said. He was arrested and transported to Wilton police headquarters.

At HQ police determined that Cook's blood alcohol level was o.3244, over four times the legal limit of 0.08. He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. Cook was held on a $260 bond and arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 6.
