Wilton Police Charge Norwalk Man with DUI

The police responded to a 911 call, reporting a motor vehicle 'all over the road.'

WILTON, CT —Police charged a Norwalk man with DUI and another driving-related infraction.

The Wilton PD responded to a 911 call on Saturday around 6:10, reporting a motor vehicle "all over the road," according to the police report. When a patrol car arrived on the scene, the officer saw a 2012 Infinity G37 traveling South on Danbury Roadand crossing both the white fog lines and yellow double lines into oncoming traffic. The officer stopped the car in the area of Danbury Road and Wilton Acres.

The officer made contact with the driver, Vasyl Kotsiuba, 28, of Belden Avenue in Norwalk, and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Kotsiuba was unable to perform a field sobriety test to standard, and was arrested for DUI and failure to maintain a proper lane.

At Police HQ, Kotsiuba refused to submit to chemical testing. He was released on a $260 and was given a court date of Dec. 12 at Norwalk Superior Court.
