Wilton Police Department Swears In Newest Officer

The Wilton Police Department swore in Denisse Cabrera as an officer on Tuesday.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department swore in Denisse Cabrera as an officer on Tuesday.

Officer Cabrera will be attending the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden starting on Friday. The current academy lasts a little over six months and will be a mix of virtual and onsite learning.

A resident of Shelton, Cabrera is currently studying business administration at Norwalk Community College, where she is only a few credits shy of obtaining her associates degree. She emigrated from Guatemala to the United States in 2003 and has lived much of her life in Norwalk.

Prior to donning the Blue in Wilton, Cabrera worked as a clerk, assistant manager and manager with several local businesses. She also served as a mail carrier for several years in Norwalk with the U.S. Postal Service.
