Wilton Police Department Welcomes New Officer

Officer Anthony Fragomeli​ was sworn in as the Wilton PD's newest officer in a ceremony Thursday.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department officially welcomed its newest member, Officer Anthony Fragomeli, in a ceremony at the station Thursday morning.

Officer Fragomeli’s parents and sister, along with other several family members and friends, attended the swearing-in ceremony. First Selectman Toni Boucher and Police Commissioner Chris Giovino praised Fragomeli for his accomplishment, and Town Clerk Lori Kaback administered the oath of office.

The recruit's father, Mario Fragomeli, presented his son with his brand-new Wilton Police badge.

Fragomeli grew up in Bethel, and is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in justice administration and law enforcement, according to a news release from the Wilton PD.

Prior to joining the police, Fragomeli had worked most recently as a server and cook at Meadow Ridge Assisted Living in Redding. He currently volunteers for the Bethel Land Trust, and is a former volunteer soccer coach.

"Remain close with your family members and friends who are here to support you today, but also know that you are now part of a second family, with the fine men and women of the Wilton Police Department," Chief Tom Conlan advised his newest officer.
