Wilton Police Nab Brookfield Man on Drug Charges

Police say that the driver admitted to having an electronic cigarette that contained THC.

WILTON, CT — Police arrested a man on drug charges after stopping him for a motor vehicle violation on Saturday evening.

Wilton police stopped a 1999 Acura CL a little after 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 17 for a red light violation at the intersection of Danbury Road and Westport Road.

Police say that the driver, Flamur Kaba, 32, of Brookfield, admitted to having an electronic cigarette that contained THC which he gave to the officer. A search of the car also revealed a metal "one hitter" designed to look like a cigarette with marijuana-like residue, a two-dollar bill rolled up with a cocaine-like residue, and a small plastic bag containing suspected cocaine, according to the police report.

Kaba was arrested and charged with failure to obey a traffic signal, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia with a controlled substance and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. He was issued a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear before Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 27.
