Wilton Police Nab Dad For DUI With Underage Sons
It was the second time in two weeks the man was charged with driving his children around while under the influence.

WILTON, CT — Police charged a Norwalk man with driving his two juvenile sons while under the influence — the second time in under two weeks.
On Saturday, police report they were informed by a motorist of a pick-up truck being driven "erratically" south on Danbury Road towards the intersection of Danbury and Olmstead Hill Roads.
Police caught up with the driver of the Ford F150 while it was traveling south on Danbury Road near the intersection with Cannon Road, at which time the Wilton police officer reported the truck failed to maintain its proper lane.

Police stopped the truck at the Catalpa Road intersection, and detected "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver's breath, slurred speech, and glassy/blood shot eyes," according to Detective Lt. Robert S. Kluk.
The driver, John Deacy, 62, of Lorena Street in Norwalk, "lost balance several times and almost fell over" before failing the field sobriety test administered by the police, according to their report. Deacy had his two juvenile sons in the car with him when he was pulled over. Further investigation of the vehicle yielded an empty 200 milliliter bottle of vodka was and 11 empty 50 milliliter "nips" of vodka.

The juveniles were released to the custody of members of Deacy's family, contacted by police.
Deacy refused all chemical testing during processing at Wilton Police HQ and was charged with DUI, two counts of DUI with children under the age of 18, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving without insurance, and failure to maintain the proper lane. He was issued a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear before Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 2.
On Dec. 6, Norwalk police charged Deacy for DUI with children under the age of 18, according to Kluk. The incident was investigated by the state Department of Children and Families.
