Wilton Police Report DUI, Speeding Charges After Late-Night Traffic Stop On Danbury Road
Wilton police say a Huntington, N.Y., driver faces DUI and speeding charges following a traffic stop.
Wilton, CT — A Huntington, NY, man is facing DUI and speeding charges following a late-night traffic stop on Danbury Road, according to a report released by the Wilton Police Department.
Police said officers stopped a gray Tesla traveling southbound on Danbury Road at about 12:32 a.m. Jan. 17 after observing it moving at a high rate of speed. The driver, identified as Christopher Campbell, 32, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
Campbell did not perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, according to the report. He was taken into custody on a DUI charge. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older. Police said subsequent chemical testing showed blood alcohol levels of 0.1377 and 0.1276.

Campbell also faces a charge of speeding in excess of 60 mph. Police said he was released after posting 7 percent of a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m.
The incident occurred on Danbury Road in the Wilton Hills section of town.
