Wilton Police Seek Witnesses After Head-On Crash
An 80-year-old Wilton man suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to police.
WILTON, CT — Police are asking for witnesses to come forward as they investigate a head-on crash that seriously injured a Wilton driver last month.
According to Wilton police, officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded around 4:45 p.m. May 18 to the area of Danbury Road and Arrowhead Road for a reported motor vehicle crash.
Investigators said a DHL Freightliner box truck and a Ford Maverick pickup truck collided head-on, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The pickup truck driver, an 80-year-old Wilton resident, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters before being transported to Norwalk Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

The driver of the box truck, a 56-year-old Trumbull man, was also taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation with suspected minor injuries, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wilton Police Reconstruction Team.
