The police are now recommending that residents mail personal checks directly from the Post Office.
WILTON, CT —Police are warning homeowners of a rash of thefts from residential mailboxes.
"The purpose is to steal legitimate personal checks which are later forged and deposited into suspect accounts," Wilton police posted on social media.
