Wilton Publishes Coronavirus Update For August 17

"August 17th – Highlights from the CT DPH report as of 8:30 p.m. Monday August 17h versus Sunday:

- Statewide: 54 previously reported cases were removed due to an error in reporting.
- Wilton: 3 case decline.
- Statewide: .37% of tests performed reported positive.
- Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 5-net patient increase. Fairfield County, 3-net patient increase.
- Deaths: Statewide, none
Of the nine surrounding communities reported in yesterday’s update, Norwalk also had a decline in cases today, presumably due to the correction. The chart below reflects today’s reported case change and total cases.
Today the Travel Advisory was updated to add Alaska and Delaware and remove the state of Washington. If you travel to one of the thirty-three affected states or Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands, you must complete a travel form, available online.

If you did not read my Op-Ed published yesterday, Speak Out on Eversource and Optimum, please do. I firmly believe that no meaningful regulatory change will happen unless residents rise up and demand it. First Selectmen/women, mayors and individual legislators can’t accomplish it alone. Eversource's lobbyist clout is just too strong.
Detailed Case Data:
The CT Data Center reported the following for Wilton as of 8:30 p.m. August 17th and versus the dates prior to the start of Phase 1 and Phase 2:
- 243 cases, 36 additional since June 16th and 43 since May 19th.
- 3,224 residents tested, 2,074 since June 16th and 2,474 since May 19th.
- 4,336 tests performed, 2,884 since June 16th .
- 42 deaths, 1 since June 16th and 5 since May 19th.
CT DPH reported the following for Fairfield County and Statewide as of 8:30 p.m. August 17th:
- 18,322 cases, 1,941 additional since 6/16 51,255 cases, 5,826 additional since 6/16
- 1,411 deaths, 59 additional since 6/16 4,456 deaths, 237 additional since 6/16
- 14 hospitalized, 54 less than 6/16 47 hospitalized, 139 less than 6/16
