Wilton Rowers Win 6 Medals at Philadelphia Regatta
Norwalk River Rowing earns two gold medals, three silvers and one bronze on July 26 at the Philadelphia Youth Regatta.

Wilton rowers George Mgaloblishvili, Greg Bauerfeld, James Koenigsberg, Will Pacella, and Patrick Lyon helped Norwalk River Rowing earn two gold medals, three silvers and one bronze on July 26 at the Philadelphia Youth Regatta, which included nearly 500 entries from 43 clubs, mostly from the northeast.
All of these Wiltonians helped power the 8+ that took silver in the 500 meter dash. Mgaloblishvili also rowed in a pair that took another silver and Bauerfeld rowed in a single that took bronze, just eight-tenths of a second behind the second-place finisher. NRRA also won gold in the 16 and under double. NRRA almost swept the 16 and under single event, taking gold, silver and fourth, just six-tenths of a second behind third.

Norwalk River Rowing also won two gold medals at the U.S. Rowing Club National Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee the week before the Philadelphia Regatta. NRRA rowers Kris Petreski and Liam McDonough won the golds in the 16 and under double and the single (Petreski). The National Championships are open to youth clubs all over the country, and there were 1,125 boats entered from 80 different clubs.
