WILTON, CT — The first day of school in Wilton is August 27— and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar. The Wilton School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences. What it doesn't include is a list of back-to-school essentials and where to find them; you can find that here.

The school calendar allows for 181 days of school in accordance with state law. If the year must be extended due to emergency closings, the days will be added to the end of the school year. If no such days are used, the last day of school will be June 12, 2020. Regarding High School graduation, by state law, after April 1, Boards of Education are permitted to establish a graduation date.
