Wilton School District Ranked Among Top 5 in State

A new report ranks the top school districts in Connecticut and we let you know how yours performed.

Niche.com has released its new list of “2016 Best School Districts in Connecticut.”

The results are based on a variety of metrics, including test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality, reviews by students and staff, SAT scores and much more.

The top 10 reveals that seven of the top rated school districts are located in Fairfield County and the other three are from Hartford County.

The top 5 for Connecticut are: No. 1 Westport, No. 2, New Canaan, No. 3, Wilton, No. 4, Simsbury, and No. 5. Greenwich.

Wilton School District received an A+ overall grade and received 166 reviews from staff and students.

Niche.com assigned specific grades to key categories including: academics, extracurricular, resources and facilities, teachers, and even food.

Wilton received an A+ for its academics, A+ for extracurriculars, A for its resources and facilities, and an A+ for teachers.

97 percent of Wilton students are proficient in math and 96 percent are proficient in reading. The district spends $19,866 educating each student.
