Wilton School Ranked Among CT's Best Group of Teachers in 2016

Connecticut's best group of public high school teachers for 2016 is at Westport's Staples High School, according to a new ranking from reviews website Niche.com.

One hundred high schools in the state are listed, and it is based on several criteria that gave the most weight to the opinions of students and parents. Click here to view the full methodology.

"Ranking based on student and parent reviews of teachers, teacher salaries, teacher absenteeism, teacher tenure, student-teacher ratio, and the Niche Academics Grade for the school," according to Niche.

Greenwich High School has the second-best crop of teachers, followed by Simsbury High School, Wilton High School and New Canaan High School. Rounding out the top 10 are Amity Regional in Woodbridge, Darien High School, Academy of Aerospace & Engineering in Hartford, Weston High School and Lyme-Old Lyme High School.

Nationally, the best crop of public high school teachers is at Louisiana School for Math, Science & The Arts, according to Niche, followed by New Jersey's Bergen County Technical High School - Teterboro, and Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. Rounding out the top five are High Technology High School and Bergen County Academies, both in New Jersey.

Staples High is the the only school in Connecticut to rank on the national list, landing at #86.
