Wilton Selectman Approve 'Civility Proclamation': Report

The selectmen approved the proclamation in front of a room full of Wilton residents.

WILTON, CT — In an effort to affirm Wilton's commitment to "civility, respect and understanding," the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a 'civility proclamation,' Friday, reports the Hour.

In front of a pleased room of Wilton residents, Selectmen engaged in 15 minutes of "spirited debate" over word choice and interpretations. They later voted to adopt a proclamation to show support for all, regardless of party affiliation.

Second Selectman Michael Kaelin, cited by the Hour, aimed to make the statement a message of positivity, and be inclusive to everyone.
