Wilton Seventh Grader Named to All-State Football Team

Wilton resident Austin Andersen, a seventh grader at New Canaan Country School, was one of two Fairfield County Football League players named to the FBU Connecticut seventh grade all-state football team, which began competition in The FBU National Championship tournament on Saturday December 6. Andersen, who was a member of Wilton Blue’s seventh grade football team that shared this year’s FCFL championship, caught two touchdown passes this weekend including the game winner in Team Connecticut’s first round 20-14 victory over Long Island. By defeating North Jersey on Sunday 32-12, a game in which he also hauled in a TD pass, Andersen and his teammates advanced to the Sweet 16 and the East Regional Finals in Alexandria, VA, where they will take on Massachusetts this coming weekend.
