Wilton Smoke Shop Sold Illegal THC Products: Police
Police have launched an investigation into a local smoke shop they found was selling tobacco to minors.

WILTON, CT — Police have launched an investigation into a local smoke shop they found was selling tobacco to minors.
The Wilton Police Department, with the assistance of the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the state Department of Consumer Protection, conducted a compliance check of the Mohegan Smoke Shop at 14 Danbury Road on Wednesday. The operation was planned after the WPD received complaints that under aged patrons were purchasing tobacco and other products from the store.
During the sting, a state employee under the age of 18 was able to purchase a nicotine vape device from the clerk at the store. The clerk, Mhd Talal Najib of Norwalk, was issued an infraction for illegal sale of a nicotine device.

According to Lt. Gregg Phillipson of the Wilton Police, the law enforcement officers noticed that the store was displaying for sale multiple items that contained Delta-8, 9 and 10 THC products, greater than the legal amount of 0.3 percent THC by dry weight, in violation of state law.
The items in question were seized by the Wilton Police Department while the investigation continues.
