Wilton Weather Alert: Sleet and Freezing Rain: Your Hour-by-Hour Forecast

The sleet continues as Wilton saw its first snow of the season but when will it end? Patch has your hour by hour forecast.

While the National Weather Service (NWS) has not issued any weather alerts, the current conditions in the area are sleet, freezing rain and cold.

How much snow fell in your area since the storm began? The NWS posted the following accumulation details on their website:

  • NEW CANAAN 0.5 300 AM 12/29 PUBLIC
  • WILTON 0.5 545 AM 12/29 TRAINED SPOTTER
  • SHELTON 0.4 100 AM 12/29 PUBLIC

The roads are still slick and drivers are urged to use caution while traveling. Mixed precipitation is expected to begin at 2 p.m. with freezing rain making for dangerous travel conditions.

  • This afternoon: A chance of light rain. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a steady temperature around 37. Northeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Tonight: Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Light and variable wind becoming north around 5 mph after midnight.
  • Wednesday: A chance of rain after 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 47. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Wednesday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.
  • Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 32.
  • New Year’s Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
  • Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
