Wise Learning offers one-on-one tutoring to students of all ages. All programs are custom designed for each student’s learning style and personality that are hands on, creative, and fun for all ages. As part of the program, we can use homework as a tool to develop skills and strategies for each student while focusing on areas such as executive function, organization, outlining, pre-writing, study skills, note taking, etc. During the summer, we can use materials that interest the student to work on these skills as well. As part of each student’s program, we communicate on an as needed basis with anyone who is working with your child such as teachers, therapists, and other professionals. All of our teachers are certified and have extensive experience with all different types of learners.

Wise Learning Day School

Wise Learning Centers are very excited to announce a new alternative school Wise Learning Day School, at our Ridgefield location, that provides custom designed programs for all students K-12. The small class size of 3 to 6 students allows for great social interaction as well as the individual attention and specialized instruction that every student needs. Wise Learning Centers offers exciting ways to learn which allows students to get up and move around throughout their day and puts the “fun” back into learning. Our teachers are state certified and all have extensive training/experience with all types of learners.

SAT/ACT Test Prep

Wise is also offering one-on-one test prep sessions to help students prepare for the SAT/ACT’s. These tests are timed standardized tests that students and parents often worry about.

These sessions will cover:

• Test Taking Strategies: Standardized tests require skills and strategies that must be taught to students in order for them to score well. These sessions will make students aware of the scoring system, the format of the test, and the best strategies to use to answer each type of question. We will discuss time management, how to outline for writing, and custom design strategies for their unique learning style that they can use on the test. This can also be applied to their daily schoolwork.

• Content Area: We all know these tests are packed with difficult content in areas of Math, English, etc. Our classes will combine teaching content area skills with the strategies necessary for learning grammar, syntax structure, math, science, and others that students have not been exposed to in awhile or never learned. This is also useful for future tests.

• Full Practice Test: For extra practice, we provide our students with a full practice test which is then scored. After seeing the results and reviewing the strengths and weaknesses, we can set goals moving forward.
