Woman Charged With Attacking EMS Worker Arrested: Wilton Police

The woman turned herself into police on a warrant on March 20.

WILTON, CT — A Wilton woman accused of attacking an EMS worker in 2015 turned herself into police after she failed to appear in court.

Neelu Pal, 46, of Wilton was arrested on March 20 on a Norwalk Police warrant after she failed to appear in court on March 6. She was processed and released on a $5,000 Non Surety bond.

According to police, officers went to the woman’s residence after receiving several 911 calls from the home.
When officers arrived, they determined that Pal, then 44, needed medical attention and EMS was called to the scene.

Pal allegedly attempted to bite one emergency responder and kicked another while in the ambulance, police said.

At the time of her arrest in 2015, Pal’s defense attorney Mark Sherman said he is confident the charges will be dismissed in court adding that the charges are overblown and not reflective of what really happened that day.

“Any resistance from Dr. Pal was necessary for her to defend herself from the conduct of a few overly aggressive law enforcement officers. You don’t have to look far in the news to appreciate that this issue is becoming a problem,” Sherman said in an email to Wilton Patch.

Pal is due back in court on May 2.
