Jet Ski Crash Leaves 1 Person Missing In CT River In Windsor, Officials Say

WINDSOR, CT — A jet ski crash has left one person missing in the Connecticut River, local and state officials said.

DEEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police responded Sunday evening to a reported jet ski accident on the Connecticut River, near the Bissell Bridge Boat Launch in Windsor, officials said.

It was reported that a person was missing in the water as a result of the incident. That person is unaccounted for at this time, and a search for that person was undertaken Sunday night before it was suspended for the evening around 11 p.m. The search resumed Monday morning at 9 a.m.

The Central Connecticut Dive Team, CT State Police, and Windsor Police and Fire Department are all assisting in the investigation. The missing person has been identified as Jose Nunez Quezada, 32, of New Haven, officials said. Jose was last observed wearing a black t-shirt and dark-colored swim trunks, officials said.

The South Windsor Fire Department said it responded around 7 p.m. Sunday for a jet-ski crash with a missing person in the river. The search Sunday night last four hours.
