1. $2.39M Roof Replacement Proposed At Windsor Elementary School (patch.com) β€” Windsor officials are weighing a $2.39 million partial roof replacement at Clover Street School after years of leaks damaged parts of the building and school equipment. With an expected 48 percent state reimbursement, the town could still owe about $1.24 million, pending approvals from the Board of Education and Town Council before applying for state funding.

Windsor Approves Plans For 258 Apartments (patch.com) β€” Windsor officials have approved converting a large Griffin Center office building on Day Hill Road into 258 apartments, continuing a major shift from offices to housing in that corridor. With additional conversions planned at 1 and 3 Waterside Crossing, the office park could soon host 228 apartments, as the town explores incentives to reuse older, vacant office space.

Hazardous Chemical Forces Windsor School Evacuation (patch.com) β€” A crystallized bottle of nitric acid discovered at CREC's Academy of Aerospace and Engineering in Windsor led to a full evacuation, but everyone was safely accounted for and no injuries were reported. Windsor firefighters, police, and a state hazmat team removed the chemical, and officials say there's no ongoing danger or disruption to regular classes.

East Windsor Man Charged After I-91 Motorcycle Crash (patch.com) β€” A motorcyclist suffered minor injuries after state police say an East Windsor man rear-ended him on I-91 northbound near Exit 36 in Windsor. The 29-year-old driver was arrested at the scene on an operating under the influence charge and for following too closely, while the injured Bloomfield rider was taken to Hartford Hospital.
