MORE INFO:
In the first workshop series, students will explore portraiture in any medium of their choice with a different live model each week. Open to beginner through advanced, individual instruction will be offered on all levels with the focus on capturing likeness and expression, as well as proper use of color, light, and attention to form. An optional time of critique will be offered after the workshop with the opportunity to share artwork and receive feedback.
Grace Storm, the instructor, is an artist from Eastern CT. Having spent years studying expressive portraiture in various mediums, including oil pastels, acrylics, her absolute favorite is watercolor. She says, “I have a love for bold colors and loose mark making. My teaching style is highly personalized, which means I will meet you where you are, whether you are working on the fundamentals, finding your style, or want to push yourself to a higher level of technical ability. I focus on giving actionable feedback that is simple and constructive. “
Underwater Kite Info:
Underwater Kite is not your average Connecticut gallery. In fact, it's not average anywhere. Unique and in a class all its own, UWK is the brainchild of artist and curator, Antony Zito working in partnership with Hartford’s “Artists in Real Time”, the nonprofit organization run by Cynthia Bulaong. Zito’s vibrant, diverse curatorial style brings a decidedly urban and edgy lilt to Windsor.
